About this deal

Chosen –Chosen are just tough, incredibly versatile units, capable of shooting, fighting, and moving however and whenever they like. If they had OC 2 they’d be the perfect unit but as-is they’re merely very good.

Cypher is also an excellent objective holder because of his Lone Operative rule. If you want more Lone Operatives, allied Daemons are an option worth considering. The Changeling and Blue Scribes are worth considering in most lists, and Nurglings are nearly a must-have for doing actions. How Does This Faction Handle Enemy Hordes? These genetically-enhanced transhuman warriors have all the strengths and skills of their Imperial counterparts, to which are added the power of Chaos and a brutal devotion to their patron Chaos Gods.

I’d be remiss if I didn’t mention Innes’ list, which again shows off how different you can make things by taking a completely different direction with things and still putting up results. Marks are a big deal. The Chaos Space Marines Detachment gives you the ability to improve your Pacts and access specific Stratagems using Marks of Chaos. Each Mark has its use, and some are more suited to specific tasks and units. Some may change how you play specific units, and it may be worth taking two of a key unit with different marks to perform different tasks.

After that initial list we’ve got a lot of Nice-to-Haves which show up often in competitive lists, but aren’t necessarily build-arounds like they used to be.The armour is massively bulky and contains a full array of fibre bundles and adamantium rods to support the heavy-gauge plasteel and ceramite plates that form the outer carapace.

Vindicators. With a profile that is very effective into both elite infantry and monsters/vehicles, Vindicators hit very hard when given the Nurgle mark. They are also surprisingly durable with a 2+ save. Their weakness is their limited range, but at least they don’t mind being touched by the enemy–their special rule lets them continue firing their Blast weapon even at enemies in Engagement Range with it. This unit can take on almost any target. On the turn they drop, they can pump out 80 shots at 24” and S4 with +1 to hit and wound. They can easily make the charge, and absolutely annihilate most targets in melee. With FnP, and fight first, they can be a bother to remove. This unit is extremely flexible in how it can do damage. I really like this unit against any matchup, in any game. It’s an extremely strong and extremely reliable unit. The Mark Of Nurgle on units like Havocs with Lascannons, Vindicators, and Forgefiends means that you can generate enough high AP saves on enemy units to push through damage even if those targets have a good invulnerable save. Using Abaddon to give those units hit re-rolls gives you incredible consistency and smooths out the variance you might otherwise have with low-volume, high-damage shots. Many lists running Forgefiends and Obliterators also take Chaos Undivided on a unit to unleash Profane Zeal – full hit and wound re-rolls with Devastating Wounds will turn large targets into a fine paste just as much as it will hordes. However, as the Horus Heresy drained the resources of the Imperium, Terminator exo-suits became increasingly rare, for they were exceptionally difficult to create and maintain. In addition, during most battles their bulk became a disadvantage against the lighter power-armoured warriors who easily outmanoeuvered them.Chaos Space Marines • Havocs • Chosen • Chaos Terminators • Possessed ( Greater Possessed) • Khorne Berzerkers • Plague Marines • Noise Marines • Rubric Marines • Obliterators ( Mutilators) • Dark Disciple • Shrivetalon • Butcher • Cultists ( Accursed Mutant • Torments) • Chaos Spawn • Fallen

Lord Of Skulls. Everyone’s favorite tank/train/whatever the hell that thing is can do some real work in 10th Edition. Access to -1 to Hit means it is harder to shoot off, and it loves getting full hit rerolls near Abaddon and exploding 6’s (especially with a Warpsmith to top off any wounds as you lose them). Innes has chosen to forego Accursed Cultists and Abaddon for a trio of Chaos Lords paired with minimum-size units of Chosen (the Chaos Lord gives them free uses Profane Zeal once per round). There are two Rhinos here, each marked with Nurgle to give them the ability to make them untargetable as needed, and ranged fire support shows up in the form of two units of Obliterators (one Nurgle, one undivided) and two Forgefiends. With those models in mind, here are a few options for making True Scale Terminators. I’ve still not decided which route I’ll go down and I’d love to hear people’s opinions on these options or other methods which I might not have considered. Option 1 – Indomitus Armour: After the Traitor Legions were driven from the realms of Mankind into the Eye of Terror, suits of Terminator Armour became even rarer among them. The development of Terminator Armour, as Tactical Dreadnought Armour eventually became known, was well underway by the time the Horus Heresy erupted in the early centuries of the 31st Millennium.Exalted Sorcerer • Sorcerer • Warpsmith • Dark Apostle • Master of Possession • Master of Executions • Lord Discordant • Warsmith • Death Guard Sorcerer • Lord of Contagion • Malignant Plaguecaster • Plague Surgeon • Tallyman • Scarab Occult Sorcerer • Scarab Occult Terminators These squads are deployed on their feet at the start of the game and lay down ranged fire while advancing. Ranged weapons are preferable as are icons that increase durability. They are not given any additional close combat weapons because they start so far away. This set-up isn’t very popular because there are better units that give ranged fire support in the CSM codex, such as obliterators. This list also has very solid action support from the Nurglings, Blue Scribes, and Warp Talons. The standard plan for Innes is to take fixed objectives, using the Scribes to Deploy Teleport Homers and making the second fixed secondary a kill secondary, though Behind Enemy Lines and Engage on All Fronts are also solid options for the list. Final Thoughts When it comes to Legion synergy for the Terminators, there are Legions that don’t do much, there are Legions that do a little, there are Legions that do a lot, and there are two Legions that do the most.
