About this deal

Well… having worked in central London I am now based in the northern hills of Cumbria which is where I grew up. I am passionate about creativity and engaging a visual generation with creative ways to see and digest information. Love Jesus, love people, love life!

Karen Sawrey: Wow, I’m so thankful for everyone involved in creating Bible Gateway. It’s such an incredible tool; one which I regularly use and love. I especially appreciate the ability to compare different translations at the same time.

Then thirdly, what was the theme of the prophecy, and this is shown by the line color. The chart reveals, for example, that Isaiah contains lots of prophecies on the themes of ‘How He Will Redeem’ and ‘How It Will End’ toward the second half of the book. In addition to the two parts of who God is, he’s wholly love whilst being holy and perfect at his core.

The ESV Reader's Bible, Six-Volume Set: With Chapter and Verse Numbers is produced with materials and formatting that provide a unique reading experience fitting for God’s holy Word. Update: I re-read the book slowly and carefully and I could read all the text. So I bumped the rating up to 4 stars. Karen Sawrey: It’s such a tough choice. Please can I have two? John 10:10, where Jesus declares he’s come that we may have life and life to the full, and Luke 1:37 (NKJV), that says with God nothing is impossible. I would absolutely recommend “The Infographic Bible” to anyone wanting to enhance their Bible studying, and better understand Scripture. You definitely won’t be disappointed with the amazing amount of thought, effort, and work that was put into creating this sensational Bible study tool. When I shared my review of Edward Tufte’s latest data visualisation book, “Seeing with fresh eyes”, I did not mention how his challenge reminded me of this Infographic Bible. A printed data visualisation achievement that David McCandless describes as “ awesome and ambitious“. Once you open The Infographic Bible, you’ll find it difficult to put it down. As a teacher, you could build entire lessons around the infographics contained in this book! My second reason for recommending is the creativity of the infographics contained in this book. It should encourage readers to see new ways of visualising text, concepts & relationships. A chance to break free of the too-familiar common charts& try something new. Plus most of these graphics are communicating textual data & analysts or researchers see too few examples of how to do that well. No wonder it was award-winning.

I basically love all things paper and ink, working as an illustrator and conceptual designer for print for 24 years and in publishing for 17 of those. That experience stretched across different media including: top magazines; Alpha and HTB; global charities like World Vision and Zacharias Trust and publishers including HarperCollins, Hodder & Stoughton and Penguin Random House. The Infographic Bible: Visualizing the Drama of God’s Word” by Karen Sawrey is a marvelous new book from Zondervan. Unique and very impressive, the aim of “The Infographic Bible” is to help people understand the Bible through visual learning.

Other Topics

Karen Sawrey: Many themes could be used when describing the ‘big picture’ of the Bible. I chose to use the theme of God’s love and his commitment to a relationship with us for several reasons, not least because it mirrors my own journey and experience of God. Psalm 103:2-5 pretty much sums it up: “Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” His heart for a relationship with us continues to astound me daily; it just oozes love, grace, and mercy! Karen Sawrey: Think about fitting a camel through the eye of a needle. That’s what I felt like I was doing! Bio: Conceptual designer, illustrator, and lover of all things paper and ink, Karen Sawrey is passionate about engaging a visual generation with creative ways to see and digest information. Karen has over 20 years experience stretching across a wide range of media, including top magazines, global charities, and publishers, including HarperCollins, Hodder & Stoughton, and Penguin Random House. Having worked in central London, she now continues to flourish as a creative among the Northern Hills, still loving paper, people, and life to the full.
