The special year will be commemorated across 2023 with a special comic issue, a national press and media campaign, schools’ activity and special appearances from the comic’s celebrity fans. To ensure as many children as possible get the chance to enjoy the special edition, 2,023 issues will be given out to classrooms across the country through the Beano for Schools programme.
New characters introduced to one of Dundee-based publisher DC Thomson’s most well known titles are vetted by digital focus groups of children. The authors of the winning entries will also receive a limited-edition Gnasher badge each (15 badges in total). These are the Competition Information and Terms and Conditions for the “Beano Birthday 2023” Competition to contribute to the Beano Birthday mini-magazine, inserted in the Beano 85th Anniversary issue, on sale on 26.07.2023.
