About this deal

LIGHTWEIGHT - these tents tip the scales at 1820 grams, making them hardly the porkiest tents you'll pitch! The design of the wind rope fixed in the middle improves the stability and wind resistance of the tent.

They might want to look at two-door two-vestibule options, Naturehike have a range such as Cloud-Peak 2, Star-River 2, and Mongar; and 3F UL with their Lanshan 2, Tipi, etc. Distance walked may be higher than Trail covered if I deviated from the trail, or it may be lower because the GPS Watch often under-reads the actual distance walked. However, other people (like in this forum) have tried out both of these tents and say that they are comparable in terms of quality and construction. Although we use the best polyurethane waterproofing available, prolonged exposure to moisture causes hydrolysis which, in turn, causes the waterproof layer to break down, becoming soft, sticky and no longer waterproof. Although I didn’t get as much opportunity to travel as I’d hoped this year, I did take the Naturehike tent on my trip through Nova Scotia and Newfoundland in August, and the Fundy Adventure Rally Reunion in September.

The first night we used it a unexpected rain and high wind storm happened and it held fast and did very good. Be aware – AliExpress said that the tent came with a “mat” and I assumed that meant a sleeping mat, but no, what it meant was it came with a “groundsheet” to put under the tent to protect the floor.

Weather Conditions:High humidity, low temperatures, and rainy conditions create the most condensation. If you are experiencing an issue that you feel falls under the NATUREHIKE Limited Warranty, we’re here to help with that too.

To be clear, I think they’ll last the natural life of the tent, but they don’t feel like they’d take much abuse, either. It’s a freestanding tent so before you stake the tent into the ground, it can be moved around, which came in handy on many occasions. There were two days where the wind was really really strong and the tent held up fine – Twilight Campsite and Havelock. That said, we absolutely don’t think the Cloud UP is a bad tent and if you don’t, or can’t spend the money on a pricier alternative, we believe it would make a fine companion on the trail.Front vestibules: It makes the inner space larger, and personal hiking gear can also be placed in the front door area. Even just one person can also easily set up the tent with instructions attached to the inside of the outer bag. I think it’s important to note that part of the increased weight of the Cloud Up 2 is that it has that extra pole part which makes it a free-standing tent when compared to the Fly Creek…this also makes it more stable. There are some other differences, like that the CloudUp 2 uses seven clips instead of six, doesn’t have guylines attached to the tent body, and has 14 stakes instead of 11. If you want a lightweight tent which isn’t as droopy, you can check out the Mongar 2P or Star River 2P by Naturehike.
