Billie Mintz

Billie Mintz is an award winning[citation needed] filmmaker and corporate social responsibility storyteller, CEO of Artists Raising Consciousness (ARC). He lives and works in Los Angeles, USA.

Mintz played Hank in the pilot episode of Degrassi Junior High, which debuted in January 1987, although his character was subsequently written out when CBC picked the show up. In 1996, Mintz wrote Dancing With the Fool about his experiences and relationship with 69-year-old native Incan dancer, Raul Silas, who Mintz had met dancing on the street of Toronto. The play was produced at the Tarragon Theatre Extra Space with Raul playing himself. The success of the play[citation needed] lead to a short documentary, The Superdancer of the World (3min. 16mm), and then a short film, The Invisibility Complex (3min. 35mm).[citation needed] to blend filmmakers with corporations and charitable organizations on humanitarian issues that “help heal the community”[citation needed] through media and storytelling.[citation needed]
