Arvid Gumælius

Karl Arvid Gumælius (i riksdagen kallad “Gumælius i Örebro”), född 25 november 1833 i Örebro, död 23 februari 1908 i Stockholm, var en svensk publicist, politiker och affärsman.

Fadern hette Otto-Joel Gumaelius och Arvid Gumælius var brorson till Wilhelm Gumælius.

Efter studier vid Uppsala universitet fick Gumælius anställning vid telegrafverket och var telegrafkommissarie i Örebro 1856–1887. Parallellt med detta var han i princip oavbrutet under perioden 1855–1881 huvudredaktör för Nerikes Allehanda, som genom hans insatser vann stor spridning och intog en inflytelserik ställning inom landsortspressen. Den ansågs även vara en god skola för tidningsmäns tekniska utbildning. Gumælius gav 1872–1889 ut den mycket spridda och prisbilliga veckotidningen Allehanda för folket.

Han var utpräglat frisinnad och var livligt engagerad i stadens politiska liv, bland annat som ledamot i stadsfullmäktige 1863–1866 och 1879–1882 samt som ordförande i drätselkammaren 1863.

Han var riksdagsledamot i andra kammaren 1870–1877 och 1882–1890 för Örebro valkrets, samt 1891–1893 för Stockholms stads valkrets soccer cleats sock. I riksdagen var han bland annat ledamot i bankoutskottet 1873–1877, 1882–01887 och 1891–1893 och han var också utskottets vice ordförande 1873–1877 samt 1891–1893. Åren 1870–1871 tillhörde han det nyliberala partiet, varefter han periodvis tillhörde lantmannapartiet eller betecknade sig som vänstervilde. Vid 1886 års riksdag anslöt han sig till vänstern och riksdagarna 1891–1893 tillhörde han andra kammarens center.

Gumælius deltog gärna i riksdagsdebatterna. Han var starkt engagerad i ekonomisk politik men också i andra ämnen, bland annat norrlandsfrågan.

Han ägnade sig även med stor framgång åt affärsverksamhet och grundade den första svenska folkbanken, Örebro folkbank, som öppnades 1867 och snart fick flera efterföljare. År 1887 trädde han i spetsen för det av honom grundade Allmänna livförsäkringsbolaget och förblev dess chef fram till sin död electric sweater shaver.

Beth Shak (born November 8, 1969) is an American professional poker player, who has been playing professionally since 2004. She is also an entrepreneur and philanthropist as well as a shoe and handbag expert. Shak ran a private vintage designer clothing business for 10 years. Her most recent project is a custom designed poker chip set currently on pre-order at her website.

Listed as one of the most attractive poker players Shak has appeared in the World Series of Poker, CBS, Playboy’s Poker Tournament, “Aces & Angels” at the Playboy Mansion, YRB Magazine’s “Rock It” fashion spread, Social Life magazine, Shoeholics magazine, Good Morning America, The View,’s You’ve Got, The Today Show and MTV Cribs.

She started it when she was 16 years old and added many unique handbags during her vintage clothing business and while traveling around the world playing poker and added to her collection while she was traveling. Shak was married to fellow poker player Daniel Shak, but they are now divorced. A civil suit for a portion of her shoes was brought against Shak by her ex-husband, but was dismissed. Shak appeared on a November 2010 episode of “reality” television program, Millionaire Matchmaker, as a “millionairess” seeking professional dating help to find a life partner. She has three children.

Shak has developed a clothing line which includes hoodies and tank tops with plans for a high-end shoe line and a line of lingerie.

Shak is the founder and chair of the Deal Me In For Jed Poker Event benefitting The JED Foundation (founded by Phil and Donna Satow in memory of their son Jed), a non-profit organization working to promote emotional health and prevent suicide among college and university students. The event is hosted by Beth Shak and Jamie Gold. She comments, “I picked The JED Foundation to work with because what they stand for really resonated with me. My daughter has had a few challenges and it warms my heart to know that JED is out there to help and support kids like her.” Celebrity guests include Zach Brown and DaQuan Jones and from the Tennessee Titans, Garry Gilliam and Jordan Hill from the Seattle Seahawks, Rick Leventhal, Constantine Maroulis, and Montel Williams – amongst others.

The Function Block Diagram (FBD) is a graphical language for programmable logic controller design, that can describe the function between input variables and output variables methods of tenderizing meat. Sabanagrande (Honduras)

Sabanagrande (uit het Spaans: “Grote vlakte”) is een gemeente (gemeentecode 0816) in het departement Francisco Morazán in Honduras.

De plaats ligt aan de weg die van Tegucigalpa naar San Lorenzo leidt. In de gemeente wordt maïs en bonen geteeld en wordt vee gehouden.

Elk jaar wordt in augustus het Festival van de Rosquilla (een soort hartige donut) gehouden.

Park van Sabanagrande

In 1739 kregen de vaandrigs Cristóbal Núñez, Gregorio Sánchez en Antonio Corella, afkomstig uit Ojojona, in dit gebied een stuk grond in handen. Dit noemden ze Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Apacunca (Spaans: Nuestra Señora del Rosario = Onze Lieve Vrouwe van de Rozenkrans; Nahuatl: Apacunca = “Plaats met water om te wassen”) insulated bottle. Zij bouwden daar huizen en veekralen. In 1750 kwam er nog een stuk land in handen van Florencio Núñez en Antonio de Avila

Teoría de las formas

La teoría de las formas o teoría de las ideas (εἶδος) es una de las bases de la filosofía platónica. Procede de una división entre un mundo de cosas sensibles, (mundo sensible) y otro que no se puede percibir por medio de los sentidos (mundo inteligible) donde habitan las ideas. El autor contempla dichas ideas como la estructura, los modelos a partir de los cuales se basan las cosas físicas, que no son más que copias imperfectas de aquellas.

Por otra parte nos encontramos a las matemáticas (y otras ciencias afines) y a la dialéctica, consideradas por Platón como conocimiento cierto y seguro, destacando a la dialéctica dado que en un sentido estricto es la ciencia suprema pues alcanza la comprensión del principio incondicionado o absoluto (las matemáticas nos darían hipótesis y preparan nuestra mente para la dialéctica).

Las formas aparecen jerarquizadas y en la cima de todas ellas nos encontramos a la forma del bien, fuente de ser y de verdad de todas las demás formas. Las formas o ideas se relacionan entre sí de un modo complejo, y no es fácil captar esas relaciones, como se explica en el diálogo que lleva como título Sofista. Después de la idea de bien tenemos la de la belleza y la justicia, todos los conceptos éticos, los matemáticos y, por último las ideas de los seres materiales.

Salisbury Town Hall

Salisbury Town Hall is a historic municipal building at Maple and Prospect streets in Salisbury, Vermont. Built in 1869, it is a fine local example of Greek Revival architecture, and has served the rural community in a variety of ways: as town hall, library, and as educational facility. The former Salisbury Town Hall stands in the rural village center of the town, at the southwest corner of Maple Run Road and Prospect Street. It is a 2 12-story wood frame structure, with a gabled roof, clapboarded exterior, and marble foundation. Its front facade is distinguished by its central entrance, which is set in a deep recess taking up the central portion of the three-bay facade. The building corners have pilasters rising to a broad entablature, with a fully pedimented gable above that has an oculus window at its center. The interior of the hall is reflective of a major early 20th-century renovation
