About this deal

Mitakon focusing range can be fine-tuned, while another implementation can be calibrated by only adding lens mount shims.

Funnily enough, despite it being of a very different optical design, the m-mount voigtlander 35mm 1. The styling is definitely more retro and for going on my fun camera I do unfortunately have to admit that actually matters lol. I also like the fact that aperture ring is closer towards the camera body, same as my fuji lenses, so it is natural when swapping between lenses. The sharpness is also best at close ranges, and you can definitely see declining resolution at the furthest distances.manual focus lens gives a lovely standard field of view on an APS-C camera neither wide-angle nor telephoto, so it is a good for casual photography when you pick out your subject. Coming to you from Christopher Frost Photography, this excellent video review takes a look at the 7artisans Photoelectric 35mm f/1. The lens comes with features like a multi-layer coating to reduce flares and ghosting and nine rounded diaphragm blades for smooth bokeh.

If you want to finetune your focus during, say, a portrait session, the very fluid motion of the focus ring makes it really easy to do precise focusing even though the throw is shorter than a regular portrait lens where you often get close to 180° of rotation for really fine focus tuning. All edges on the specular highlights are beautifully smooth, and there are no harsh edges or onion rings. Focus missed the front berries, but they’re still sharper than the berries in the rest of the images. For walking around, shooting street, and especially black and white photography, this is one of my favorites when looking to go as fast and as small as possible. That rainbow seems to be coming from a source outside the picture area, light just glancing across the front surface.

This lens has about some of the weirdest performance traits of any of the lenses that I’ve tested through the years. Most of the images are Classic Negative film simulation jpegs, that I have tweaked a bit in Lightroom.
